Volunteer Day Staff:
This position requires supervision, support, advice and love of residents who are going through a difficult time in their lives and possibly deciding to make some changes in behavior, attitudes, habits and lifestyle. It requires patience with the resident while she is adjusting to these changes.
We are currently looking for a person to work weekdays as well as weekends. We are very flexible, so even if you are able to work for less than an 8-hour shift or would like to be on call for emergency staffing, let us know.
We will train Volunteer Day Staff in our Program and provide necessary support for success.
Drivers:
Naomi House residents are in need of rides to and from work, job interviews, childcare, and appointments. Due to the fact that there is no public transportation in Wautoma, this is a critical need. Volunteers must have proof of car insurance.
Fundraising:
Naomi House will be involved in numerous events and activities throughout the year. Each one of these events will be a great opportunity to volunteer to spread the word and help out at the event.
Grant Writing:
We are looking for help in this area from someone who has had experience in writing successful grant proposals. We would also appreciate letting us know what grants might be applicable to our ministry.
Board Development:
Naomi House is in need of people who have experience with homelessness, shelter operation, and/or business, to come along side us on our Board of Advisers or Board of Directors.
House Manager Assistant:
This person will help out with the daily routine at Naomi House. Children may need help with homework, a mother may need a sitter while she attends her weekly classes in the home. This person will simply lend a helping hand, heart, and ear if needed.
Mentor/Life Coach:
We all need advice on how to overcome obstacles to daily success and this position offers that to each mom. A mentor can be available when a mom is frustrated, to come along side her and give her some loving encouragement. A mentor can also celebrate in the success of a woman in her journey to self-sufficiency.
Nurses:
If you are a nurse, your time in applying basic care to residents and answering common questions they may have is invaluable. This will save time and money on unnecessary doctor visits.
Sunday Lunches:
It is our desire to offer the women who stay with us an example of loving family relationships. So we came up with the idea to have women from the community come for Sunday Lunches. This is dual purpose in that you can donate a meal as well. You and a few friends and/or your family can participate in this unique opportunity.
Custom Design Volunteer Idea:
If you have an idea of a class, event, fundraiser, etc. that you would like to organize, we’d love to hear it! We would love to work with youth to help them learn about homelessness in rural areas and give them a chance to serve locally.
If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please call 920-787-2247
