What We Do
Naomi House is a non-profit (501c3), faith-based organization.
Naomi House provides and environment where a woman can become equipped to create stability in her own life and the lives of her children. This is accomplished through our classes, structured practice, guided interaction and lots of prayer. We recognize each woman’s dignity and uniqueness, and acknowledge her power to choose success in the program. She is given chances to “fail forward”; learning to live her life intentionally and purposefully.”
Women who stay at Naomi House will receive food, shelter and whatever clothing she and her family need. Each resident receives classes in parenting, money management, domestic skills, career skills and life skills. In addition to daily Bible study and weekly church attendance, one on one mentoring and community service opportunities are also part of the program. Naomi House collaborates with local agencies to provide needed services not available in house, and encourages the development of a sound support system that will continue with the resident beyond her stay.
Our classes include parenting, money management, interpersonal relationship skills, employment skills, household management, and life skills. For residents, the curriculum is reinforced by a structured environment where skills are put into practice. Mentoring provides guidance and support, and the social contract of the house provides opportunity for peer support. We recognize each woman’s worth and uniqueness, therefore we work with each resident to develop and implement an individualized plan to exploit her strengths and shore up her weaknesses.
